TeenCamp 2016 celebrates 7 baptisms

Our Teen-Camp this year was another great blessing. We have had this four day event annually for the past 16 years and it just gets better and better.

It is such a good feeling seeing our former teens now being a part of our staff and doing a marvelous job at it. I just get so encouraged with their dedication and despite being young men and women; I have witnessed over the years how much they have grown in faith, service and responsibility.

We have grown from a just a handful of teens to over one hundred. We actually have to limit the registrations due to the size of the camp’s location. Now we have the staff (former teen campers) working in different areas such as publicity, registration, meal preparations, decoration, Bible studies, devotionals, singing, sports, games, transportations, logistics, etc. This year we even had someone from another group coming to watch how we do our camp so they could get ideas for their own church’s camp.

Most of the teens are not Christians yet and neither are their families. So this is such an opportunity to evangelize them. This year we were blessed with seven baptisms.

Sometimes I feel I’m getting a little old and I dread the lack of sleep and the intense camp days and nights but I love every minute of it. For the past four years I tell myself this will be my last year but I still wasn’t able to disconnect myself from these days of craziness and love. The good things we hear from the campers and their families make it all worthwhile.
