About three hundred women from several cities of Northeast Brazil got together in João Pessoa, for one more edition of our ladies seminar which has happened once a year for the past 24 years.

This is a very special moment because we can spend time with other Christian women that we rarely see. This year we spent three days in a nice hotel right in front of the ocean. The hotel was simple yet very comfortable. There was always a nice breeze blowing the last breaths of the cool air typical of the end of our winter.

“Brilhando Como Estrelas no Universo” was the theme taken from Philippians 2:15. Several lectures taught us how different women in the Bible shone like stars wherever they were. These women are witness that still speak today. They give us the examples of how we too can shine in whatever place and situation we are living in.

I taught a group of women on the book of Ruth. We saw how Ruth was like a star, shinning in her life through the decisions she made. Her spirit of generosity, humility, loyalty, and hard work  was a mark of her character. Despite all the troubles of her life, God blessed her very much. And through her we are also blessed.  The women present shared their stories as well. There were tears and encouragement as we learned from the Bible and from each other.

Five women who came as visitors turned their lives over to Jesus during the vent. I am very thankful I was able to attend this seminar and see so many dear sisters and friends, and also learn more about the struggles and victories of their Christian journey.
